Xperia Z - Finally a Sony Worth Looking At Again?

In recent years Sony's been quite "meh" with its range of smart phones, their Android series was always sub-par, a step behind the industry in terms of updated tech specs.

The new Xperia Z seems to be Sony's try again at bringing to up a premium smartphone, and it looks like they might be able to pull it off

Not wanting to get too deep into the specs of the phone, let's just say it's definitely on par with today's high end devices, easily competing with the HTC One X, Samsung Note 2, and LG Optimus G and Nexus 4.

It does have a few additional tricks up its sleeves though...HDR video and Waterproofing of up to 3 feet for 30 minutes!

The waterproofing is quite a neat trick especially for those who often find themselves in sandy beaches, or enjoy running in the rain without worrying about their phone acting up.

I'm not sure about HDR video until I see samples of it, but it's something worth looking out for too.

If Sony does manages to pull off a great phone, it'll be really cool to see if they win the tender for this year's Nexus program, maybe we'll get a waterproof 13mp shooter with HDR capabilities in a Nexus come year end. =)
