Dinner @ Ghandi's Restaurant

It started out as a random suggestion which occurred on Wednesday I believe, to have lunch at Ghandi's, a curry house in Little India that's well known among the locals as being one of the best and not so mainstream outlet like that of Muthu's, Samy's, or Karu's.

Soon after, the lunch became dinner, but the details were sketchy, and on Sunday after the last AHM Pacer training, the bunch of us gathered at Starbucks at Kallang Leisure Mall and discussed the dinner while waiting to pick up our stuff. Since Calvin was with us, Din and Eve extended the invitation, and I managed to bring Babe along as well.

Being a place that doesn't do reservations, we found ourselves staggering in at a time that was slightly busy, and there weren't long empty tables, so we ended up invading the space of one lonesome Indian man who was peacefully having his dinner, not a care in the world...I think we must have stunned him when we sat down and he suddenly became "one of the guys".

The food's pretty good, I love it! I have to say though, I find Karu's just as good to be honest, though Karu's is more towards the west area and a bit inaccessible for some.

The tea here is apparently one to die for, made by an uncle whose only job in the restaurant IS to make tea...apparently he's so sought after, franchise chain Komalas tried to buy him over to their fast food restaurant, but Ghandi's fought hard to keep him there.

And to be honest, the tea was pretty awesome, I enjoyed it!

Dinner last night was a really good one, I decided to take the opportunity to go "hands on" with the food and eat without cutleries after snapping photos, I admit I haven't done it in awhile...one of my uncles who has passed was a Baba and hence I would learn to mimic him at the table when he ate without a fork and spoon when I was a child.

Dinner was great, and thanks Din for being a great host that evening. =)
