New Balance Run

Great run today! Though the pace shows 5:27 average, the run towards Esplanade was freakin fast! By the time we reached the halfway mark, it was only 22 minutes!!!!! Everyone else was running at a slow pace cause it was a recovery run, I was dumb enough to follow the lead who was one heck of a runner!

I asked him why he ran so fast when everyone else was far behind and he said "cause they told me I would be leading some fast runners today", apparently he hadn't been looking back much to notice that I was the only one trying to actually keep up...dumb move on my part, this was a recovery run, but I was dashing faster than yesterday's route!

The return run was much slower thank goodness! After the lead realised that everyone wanted a slower pace, and I told him I'd rather go much slower, he did as well, and along the way back even chatted up a little and gave me some running tips...not sure if they will come in handy for me but still it was nice of him to demonstrate along the way.

Managed to chat up with a few people, including Michael Quek as well...did you know he only started breaking off from the 10km mark in August this year and is now running 1h59m for his 21km? Wow, and he's taking part in SC's 42 this year too, amazing!

Am glad I took part in today's session, will definitely look forward to doing it again next week.

Great stuff!

Sam didn't have to look back, you were the fast runner he was leading. You act slow only and give people chance only. =p

lol no man, Sam was actually helping the new comers adapt to the route so he hung back. Another staff was leading, I suspect he is from China but he sounds like he's been living here for a really long time.

Quite nice guy, never caught his name, he gave me a few tips on running technique for long distances, don't think it'll apply to me though. The runs at NB are more formal, but to top it off it ends with cups of H2O or 100 Plus...I can dig that! =)

The tips won't apply to you for now.... then

*Flash Forward*

Your blog post will be about about long distance running and tips have applied to you. =p
