HTC Confirms The Ice Cream Sandwich

HTC has by far been one of the best Handset companies I've seen who are capable of doing up a really cool user interface to compliment the Android OS (Sense UI on the HTC Cha Cha is just incredible! Now if only their internal phone memory weren't that....er....low).

Now they've released an official statement that they will be integrating ICS to their handsets in early 2012! So far it only applies to the higher end models which have the grunt and internal ram to run the new OS efficiently...don't expect it to hit the lower end handsets though gingerbread (2.3) is a pretty good OS on its own compared to Froyo or Eclair.

HTC knows how excited our fans are to get their hands on Google's latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, so we're thrilled today to announce the first wave of HTC phones that will receive upgrades: We can confirm the brand new HTC Vivid is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich. In addition, Ice Cream Sandwich is coming in early 2012 to a variety of devices including the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL and HTC Sensation XE, as well as the HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G and HTC Amaze 4G through close integration with our carrier partners.
