If the next Samsung / Android can be more stable than before, then Galaxy is a better buy since it can do all your Must Haves, Good to Have and Can do Without.

I initially went for Android because iPhone could not replace my Creative media player which played divx & xvid.

Now that it can though, it actually makes choosing between the two even harder cause both seem to satisfy my wants and needs.

From your experience, are there any of the mention things in my list that may be a hassle to do on iphone?

Sat Nav, Mighty Text, etc. will be an issue. A similar nav app on the iPhone is a paid app.

Android bao more features including everything that a general user doesn't need. I think of it as buying a car that comes built in with a kitchen sink, toilet bowl and hand sanitizer dispenser, etc, the whole works.

iPhone less hassle but its features have means have, don't have then LL, wait for next version. It may lack some features but if Apple leaves them out in the first place, it is probably not that crucial.

But if you jailbreak your iPhone, then it is a whole new world out there.

Features wise, Android wins provided one has time to sort out any bugs, setup, etc. Best for geek lovers.

Hm...not sure about the more features that a general user doesn't need though...which features are the ones you're referring to?

Jail Break (or in Android case, Rooting) offer more customizable options but can be a hassle if something cock up - This is the "Best for geek lovers" area.

I do agree though, that the iPhone is better for regular users for sure, especially folks who find it hard catching up with technology, I convinced my dad to use an iPhone instead of my phone because of it's UI.

To the younger generation crowd though, I think it shouldn't be that hard to navigate around Android's interface, bugs do plague Android more often due to companies putting their customized skins on top of Android's OS, but hopefully that will change when they implement their new OS come November.

OS Fragmentation is a problem with the Android ecosystem. It will still be there after Ice-cream Sandwich because that is the flaw of an open platform (something that Amazon has cleverly taken advantage of).

Anyways, if that is what bothers you, can always go for the 'pure' Google experience like the Nexus series. That is what Samsung is gonna announce right?

Actually Ice Cream is suppose to solve that problem, that's why I'm interested to see how the people at Google attempt that cause it seems like a damn hard task to do.

The rumour is the Nexus Prime, yeah, we'll see loh. Between Pure Android and iPhone though, I think I'll pick iPhone, Samsung's skin is rather user friendly which is what's made me come to like of Android, but it's unfortunate that it's hardware gps was very faulty (apparently a hardware problem across a few variants).
