AMD Releases the Bulldozer

AMD's released Bulldozer, their answer to Intel's Sandybridge. The video they posted shows an example of the power of 8 cores for a price way below what Intel costs.


That aside though, is it really that fantastic? PCWorld thinks otherwise, I haven't had the chance to read the article in full so I can't comment...I was rooting for the underdog though...seems like Intel is still leading the industry.

common misconception is that more cores is better/faster. seems like AMD has issues with silicon fab, forcing them to limit speed. looks like any hopes of closing the gap with intel will be on Piledriver.

Heh, I think by the time PD is out, Intel would have released it's successor to Sandybridge.

I used to like AMD during my secondary school days, it was the successful underdog but now it seems like it's forever playing catchup. =(
