7 Round the West

Got a little cheesed off with runkeeper turning off its gps everytime I lock the phone's screen...happened again when I did my first lap, had to recalculate.

Was meant to be a slow 7min per km run but after I missed the first lap's mileage, RK tracked my pace to be really slow because I had spent the first 7 minutes traveling 25 metres....since then every time I hear RK inform me every five minutes that I was pacing at "10mins per kilometre", I got disgusted by the timing (even though I knew it wasn't true) and kept pacing up...resulting in a 5min plus fast jog when I came home to recalibrate my route.

Overall did 7km today, rather happy...am glad I ended before the rain started to pour...

Babe on the other hand is still tucked in bed snoozing away...long week for her, hope next week turns out better. =)

Since this is one of your usual running routes, you can estimate your pace based on checkpoints and a stopwatch. no point relying on your crap gps phone, get frustrated and end up having to re plot your route on runkeeper right?

If your goal is just to burn calories, i reckon it's more efficient to track total time than distance.

Actually I don't have to rely on gps at all for that park because a loop around park 1 is 1km and a loop around park 2 is 4 km.

The gps is more of a visual presentation that's more for aesthetics honestly, it doesn't bother me much I think cause I've been having to remap so many times already.

Total time is definitely more efficient to track than total distance for calorie burning, but cause I'm happy with my weight and intend to maintain it rather than lose further, I don't have to focus too hard on timing and have the luxury of tracking distance as part of my routine as well.

lol ok I realised I used the word "fed up" to describe my issues with the GPS in my entry...shouldn't have done that, misinterpretation.

More like "cheesed off", not so much agitated. haha

You've been complaining about your GPS like once a week consistently! If I were you, I'd just smash the damn thing into a wall already. Timing is just right, 2 new phones to be announced next week.

haha yeah I complain about it but it's not like I hold a grudge with it and pull my hair...lol smash the thing into a wall??? haha I think you're more fed up reading about my complaints than I really am unhappy about my phone loh!

Was gonna buy the phone last July but I ran into a bit of a money problem so couldn't. Yeah can't wait to see what comes out this week, looks like a lot of goodies in store.
