Therapy in the Strangest of Places

Here I sit, again.

It's Sunday and I find myself in the office staring at the screen of my computer.

I'm not working...not much anyway.

For the past month I've found the office to be a place I can go to sit, chill, and actually find peace of mind.

Some times I'd find myself pulling out a document or two to do or file.

It's therapeutic actually. At times especially when it's one of those really boring Saturdays or Sundays, finding a bit of work to do is actually a good way to kill time.

You don't have to rush it because it's a weekend, you're not bounded by other work commitments. You can simply take one task, and spend the entire day working on it.

Today for example, I got to know a little more about WDA's Skill Development Levy and Foreign Workers Levy which companies must pay on a regular basis. Last week I cleared my desk and started wiping down the dust accumulating at the corners of my table.

The office has become some sort of a first home (second being the one I actually live in), where I go to kill time and find stuff to do because.....well......sleeping at home isn't exactly something I enjoy doing on a weekend. Something I think Xinwei will gladly welcome. lol

Looking back, I remember how school was the "place to be" when there was nothing else to do.

On Saturdays and Sundays when I was free, I'd find myself at the Student Manager's desk, minding my own stuff, or some times reviewing my textbooks and rewriting my study notes. Schoolmates like Jae Young and Jung Doe would normally be seen hanging around the Student Manager's area as well, doing their own studying or taking down notes. Gosh I miss those times.

I guess being unproductive on a weekend isn't something I'd like to find myself doing most of the time. Then again drowning oneself in work on weekends isn't good either!

Perhaps being in the office is just my way of forcing myself to be more productive, rather than to sit at home and stare at a tv screen all day. I know for a fact that I lack discipline at home. I can try to keep my desk in the office tidy but the room at home is a complete mess!

Perhaps I'm just odd.
