Looks like the Polar HRM which works with Runkeeper for Android is terrible and doesn't work as well as hoped.
Zephyr's been having a number of good reviews but does not support Runkeeper.
Even after all this pondering, I'm unsure as to how I began thinking about HRMs when I just jog casually to maintain my weight. =\

if i'm not wrong, the hrm helps in losing weight/fats too by allowing you to stay in the 'fat burning zone'. gotta check with colin about the details.
Yep you're right. It's more efficient if you do a lactate test to see at what Heart Rate you will need to run to burn fat.
At the moment though I'm doing it very loosely. Meaning for me, at 5-6mins per km, I'm not burning fat, but at the 7min per km pace, I consider that as my "agar agar" fat burning zone...I'm basing it off Colin's own fat burning zone he was at about 3 months back. lol
