Meet Lazydroid =)

Apart from the sms feature, it basically allows you to access your files wirelessly...although you can see it's quite a mess as it shows you every single file, similar to the iphone explorer which doesn't control what folder you can access so if you don't know where your files are, you might get lost.

Turn on your camera wirelessly (For what reasons I don't know, especially if you are not near your phone and it most likely has its camera facing the flat onto whatever surface the phone is on top of)

View your phone screen remotely...this requires your phone to be rooted, but all you can do is watch what is being done on the phone, you can't control it from the image. And as you can tell the image is kinda screwed up.

Turn on GPS, although there's really not much use with this function, you can't locate your stolen phone since the desktop address changes when you're on the road.

One thing to note though is that connection is really slow if the phone is connected to 3G instead of being on the same network, so much so that you really can't access it most of the time.
Anyway, essentially the only two things you'll end up using are the file browser and most likely the sms function, the rest are more cosmetic "good to have"s at the moment.
