Zoo Day

Zoo Day was hella fun. This time round with Babe and Hn playing the "motherly" roll with Zeline, we got a bit more slack and just walked around taking pictures instead. Zelene's warming up to babe a lot, talking to her when we're not around, telling her she wants to see the rabbit, or laughing out when she sees a goat meh-ing away. In front of us though, she still goes rather silent, but I guess maybe it's cause Xinn plays with her, so she's more comfortable towards her, us guys on the other hand have no idea what is the meaning of "motherly skills".

I tried getting a "bat shot", it wasn't really good, there weren't many flying by the time we got there as it was halfway through feeding already and most of the flying foxes were fed. The one I got could be sharper, but oh wells.

I think the highlight for me was when I caught sight of a goat giving birth, at first I was like "wtf's that?!?!" But then as the sack of "water" coming out of her u-kn0w-what got bigger and bigger, it became clearer, so I had the zoo keepers alerted and they prepped the place for the goat to give birth.

Sad though, animals in captivity don't usually have successful birth rates, it's often the case that the fawn dies, for this however, out of the 3, at least one managed to make it. phew! Was definitely a rare sight and one worth catching. Standing under the hot sun has cost me a slightly burnt face, but heck la.

Was rather tired but overall satisfied with that day. Thanks to uncle Tony for the boat ride and dinner. I think next time we should definitely bring him out to Mellben Seafood to give it a try. =)
