Sunday, Al, Hans, and I headed down to Seng Kang to check out the next league of the Tribob series which Colin was taking part in.
Since Al and I had cameras, it was a good time to try and fully utilize it rather than let it sit and rot at home. Hans, as usual, showed up to give his utmost support =)
I can't say I'm completely satisfied with the photos I took, even for the panning shot Al complimented, I thought it could be sharper...still trial and error I guess.
Overall a good experience, not sure how we're gonna do the final league, looks like that might be quite an interesting one to photograph!

btw the panning shots i see (even so called pro ones) are rarely sharp.
Thanks for the link! Will read it up later =D
True, true, maybe I shouldn't beat myself up too much for yesterday's photos. lol
how can you complain on a 70-200 f/2.8?!
quick go buy a prime! you should get colin to bring his primes for WCC and then decide if you need wider or longer.
Haha, won't buy so soon la! It's my "things to buy for 2011"
Might do so before I go to HK in June though.
WCC not a good testing ground leh, my photos revolve around food more than events. Will probably test it anyway though. =)
buy it in HK!
much cheaper! should be around 3,500HKD
OH YA HOR. Thanks!
just saw the hipster.
i wonder how well he did for the run!
lol, I think he did ok leh, try checking his bib number from the photos on fb, then cross reference with the website. haha
Just found out that it is more expensive but more worth it to buy the lens in Singapore due to the warranty status.
Will most likely do that bah.
since you intend to use it for HK and prefer to buy it local, you should just buy it now so you can squeeze an extra 2 months of use!
Haha, yeah true. I thought about it that way.
Will read up more about the lens when there's time. Apparently a lot of people recommend sending it for calibration, which costs quite a bit if you bring in a none-local set which also doesn't come with local warranty.
true. i heard sigma offers international warranty, which should cover calibration.
if too worried, just buy local set lor.
Yeah boy, apparently they don't though, managed to find a 30mm 1.4 sigma lens thread on Clubsnap, what everyone's been saying so far is the calibration for local set is free first time round, $150 for the rest of the time.
For overseas sets, $150 for calibration, even for the first time. pffft.
