Since Joo Chiat wasn't a place we were familiar with, we found ourselves at Everything With Fries instead.
It was quite last minute as well, Alron were supposed to go for another dinner but had it a day earlier and hence were free that night. Babe was rushing to end work and managed to leave earlier than she normally would and cabbed her way down.
Xinn knows I generally don't really ask for anything on special occasions, so she said the rest of the guys were the ones who convinced her to get a present for that evening. I guess for that, I have the guys to thank for. =)
But of course, I think on top of the present, the card was the one that made it. I admit I didn't get to read it that night but I managed to do so this morning before starting work and it brought a big smile to my face, thanks babe, I love you too. ;)
Dinner wasn't that bad, but the company made up for it as usual. I was hoping it wouldn've been the steamboat place because I was actually making it a treat that night.
I've had a Pizzahut dinner with the SN-Raiders back in the day when it was just Lionel, Fajar, Winnie, and Hans whom I hung out with every Saturday. I then had Cze Char at "160" at Teck Whye with Zhirong and the group during the earlier part of my 20s.
I never had the chance to treat my friends from UNLV or the current click, so when the time came, and I finally felt that I could afford a treat again now that the job's stable, so I decided to do what I did on the previous treat with my other friends, and "share" the occasion.
I haven't really been vocal much these days like I would on my blog a long time ago. Maybe it's cause I'm just too tired or too busy to sit and think about what to write.
I'd like to say though that yesterday was a great day not so much because I'm now 27, but really because it felt good knowing that I'm among true peers who got my back, and I can only hope that I'd be able to do just as much in return when the time comes.
