It's been awhile since I sat down and enjoyed some half-boiled eggs at your typical HDB block kopitiam.

Nowadays when we want half boiled eggs, we go to places like Wang Cafe, or Ya Kun, and order, get our stuff, sit down and eat right away. Kopitiam Eggs and Toast have become so much like your mcdonalds, very fastfood concept.
Long gone are the days of sitting and waiting for a full 6-8 minutes for your egg to cook inside a mug of hot water.

I did it the other day though....sat through an entire 7 minutes for my egg to slowly cook. I realised now nostalgic it was, no rush...no hurry eat your egg and head off to work kinda feeling.
Within that 7 minutes, you have your own time, time to think through things, time to assess stuff you never thought you'd even ponder about until now.
If you're with company, that 7 minutes is perfect for catching up, no distractions whatsoever from all the munching of food.
Slow and steady is what it was.

Granted the eggs of today aren't as large as the big-time franchise kopitiams, but hey, their still good aren't they?
I totally enjoyed the experience the other day, it's definitely been awhile =)
