Normally when we think about Ramen we tend to be more familiar with the Pork-Bone Soup variant which everyone seems to be selling these days.
It seems nobody's interested in Tanmen, the OTHER noodle, which when I think of the name I can't help but think of this:

Last Saturday thought Xinn and I found ourselves heading to Liang Court to try out that noodle store with the "Basketball" logo cause it seemed to attract a steady stream of customers all the time.

The immediate win for me came in the form of a canister filled with deep fried GARLIC!!! I chomped down a few pieces as Xinn stared in horror!

She did figured it was worth a try, which she totally regretted from the expression on her face after she took the first bite. =)

First up was the steamed Daikon which we ordered, I'm a radish head, so this was a good start, and Xinn loved it too, especially when you eat it while it's hot =) It's really just radish with a lil soy sauce but still it was dope =)

The main was just great la, of course, I added more Chasu and an Egg, thus my bowl looked more decorated than usual. lol

The noodles were really good in my opinion, chewy enough, and still slurp-a-ble. The chicken soup was good too, not as technical to make as the Japanese Pork Bone soup, but still it made the dish really simple and delectable, plus the chasu that came with it was so tender it went really well with the whole texture vibe.
Xinn loved it but found it to be a tad bit oily on the surface, I guess it was. Plus the downside in my opinion was that the serving was good, but might have come off as being a little under portion when you're hungry.

The last item to come was the Gyoza in Vinegar and Chili, not bad, nothing spectacular either though. Mixing some vinegar with a spoon of Tanmen and Chasu immediately gets your Bak Chor Mee though. lol
Dinner went great, will love to go there again some day, maybe that or I'll be on the look out for other Japanese Noodle Houses to try in future =)
