New Toys

I normally wouldn't buy new stuff unless it was nearly necessary.

There are a few things I find very important to me in order to get through my day...they normaly include
  1. MP3 Player (Zen Vision w)
  2. Earphones (Shures E4C)
  3. Speakers (Gigaworks T20)
  4. Computer (Desktop and Macbook Pro)
Note that the first two are crucial for my daily commuting, while the other two are for home use. These are my four sources of entertainment, for music and videos.

Without them, my life would be extremely miserable and work-loaded without any form of mental relaxation.

So when my old T20s gave way, I kinda got rather upset, but it still worked somewhat, so I didn't complain...

And then my earphones gave way too, and that was too much, so in the past one week, I went about replacing two things which I consider really expensive but crucial to me.
Seen in my previous post, I settled my earphone problem the other day with a much cheaper alternative.
The speakers, on the other hand, were a much higher end version that the one I previously had, from a jump of $159 to $249, the $90 difference got me a set of T40s II by Creative Gigaworks.
Obviously the biggest difference is its height and extra set of speakers to tackle the midrange. So now I got a total of 4 midrange speakers, 2 tweeters, and 2 bassports to handle the lows.
Detail wise, they really do make a difference, granted, not a big one, but there's a lot more you can hear from the T40s compared to the T20s. Hard to explain, it's very subtle, probably because the T20s were already pretty good to begin with. My conversion from a set of old creative $20 to the T20, on the other hand, was an INCREDIBLE experience.

Still though, I'm pretty glad I got these new speakers, Zen Vision W bought a few months back at a great deal of $150, so I'm left with my computer and MBP which I don't intend to change unless really necessary.

So for this month I've spent a grand total of $448 on my speakers and earphones...but considering I've got so little items in terms of personal enjoyment, making sure that they were good stuff makes it worth the money. =)
