Busy night

It's been awhile since I had been to a formal dinner, so when I had to represent HA along with some of the committee members to go down to Goodwood Park Hotel to attend the Asia Pac Bartender of the Year Cocktail Competition, I was pretty stoked about it.
I was glad to actually be there, it was a great time to actually catch up and keep in touch with some of the industry leaders whom I've been wanting to meet for awhile now. I managed a chat up with the president of the International Bartenders Association, as well as liqueur supplier, a lecturer and David Chan, secretary of the Association of Bartenders and Sommeliers Singapore.
Two of the bartenders whom I thought were pretty cool was one from Japan and the other from Taiwan.
The Japan contestant came dressed in a ninja oufit, and the first thing that crossed my mind was Hans and Colin.
The guy from Taiwan, who had competed last year, paid homage to the King of Pop again this year, dressed in the usual outfit and flairing to the tunes of MJ's hits...it was cheesy yet amusing though, especially when he's not that good an impersonator, but a great performer nonetheless.
The standup buffet that was served that night had a pretty typical spread, although I thought the prawn cocktails and smoked salmon were damn dope, I found myself being more into the ee fu noodles fried with mushrooms which are normally only available at the end course of wedding dinners.
Overall it was great seeing more students make it down this time round for the event, definitely an eye opener for them.

Hopefully next year's group will be bigger than this year's =)
