Just don't expect me to reply your smses if you send them, my screen's backlight finally gave way, I can't see anything unless i position it properly under certain lighting.
Luckily my Mac's still able to pick up smses so the only time u'll see me drop a msg if reply to one is if I'm near my laptop.
That said, yesterday was pretty well spent.
I later met up with Xinn and we headed out to do a little photography around SG to test out the Powershot I got.
I figured since I had it, I might as well play with it while I can before I get threwn into internship and have no more time to touch it again. Pffft.
I've never really been to a lot of the new parts in Sentosa besides the beaches, so the Imbiah lookout was pretty new to me. The tower seemed to spin too fast for its own good, sth I prolly wouldn't try ever, 12 bucks for the ride up only made it less worth going for considering $10 on a student pass could get u up the Singapore flyer...and I won't even go there... lol.
Though not a pro DSLR, I really liked how the camera could capture close ups pretty well, then again most cameras do in daylight, maybe I'm just bias towards Canon products. Hm.
Xinn took this random shot with the camera "lomo style", as in she basically pointed and shoot without really looking through the viewfinder first to give it the ok. I thought it turned out pretty nice! =)
The shot of the pier is HDRed. Thing is, I HDRed it with the actual bracketing method and when I did the edit, it looked like shit. So I took the non-traditional single-shot method and got this instead. Weird eh? Maybe I'm not getting the settings right, but my Single shot seems to turn out better than the traditional method. hm..We later caught X-men Origins for a bit while waiting for the sky to turn dark. I didn't like the show at it, if anything it was pretty laughable and quite a waste of time. I hope Star Trek, T4, Transformers 2 etc don't end up like that.
We later popped by Henderson Wave cause I wanted to try my hand at the bridge shots. I liked this panorama alot, maybe I should've panned more into the bride rather just stop at the railings, might have caught both a far and near shot of the panoramic view if I had done that. Pffft.
One of the shots I liked a lot though wasn't really that of the Henderson Wave, but of a beetle I managed to take up close.
I'm not a big fan of taking creepy crawlies upclose but I've seen a lot of good samples online of people who do macros with the SX10 when taking insects so I gave it a try. It's not as sharp as I had expected it to be, but wow it was enough to freak me out. ha.
The last place we went before calling it a day was the Marina Barage.
To be honest there weren't much to take pictures of besides the view across where the city was. The above picture I took would've been better if I had not focuesed so close to the foreground until the stuff behind looked blurry.
One thing I DID like though, was being able to play with my CDK mod to brighten things up a bit.The shot of the jetty above was oringally DARK... dark as in, you couldn't even see the safety orange float ring with your eyes. My camera had a 15 second max shutter speed which I upped to 40 seconds thanks to CHDK to get this final result, which I thought was mighty awesome, so much so you could even see the PUB logo on the boat itself. lol =)
Anyway today I helped Qingwen, Cheng and Lihao with some more photo shooting, this time round for the actual poster of the Supper Club performance they were invited to perform at.
To be honest, they look like posterboys for some farmer commercial. Lol but overall I thought it was pretty cool. I haven't had the chance to play around with photos of people so I figured I'd help them out. Then I got itchy and HDR some shots I really liked.

Apart from the overly loud red skin tones, I thought the pictures came out ok. I was really just taken on by the color of the jeans which stood out the most, especially this one.
Winnie's right, they do look like some boyband...or the models for May's issue of this.
See? Even the model's wearing Flannel. Lol.K it's late, time for bed.
Night folks.
Andrew
