Random Outings...

I just unloaded a bunch of photos off my camera phone and figured since it was another slow day at the shop, I'd do a little typing.

Monday

Yosh, Colin and I headed down for lunch at New York New York. I had lunch already but figured I'd join them since what I ate was light.
They apparently had a rootbeer promo so Yosh and I had one each, look at the size of the mug! Yosh figured the only way to do a comparison was to have Colin stick his head in the middle to demonstrate the size of the mug. I agreed to her idea mainly cause I just thought it was plain hilarious.
Their terriyaki chicken wasn't very impressive though....it was cheaper than Sizzler, but still, Sizzler's came with an all-you-can-eat salad bar, plus their chicken would be served on a hot plate where its still sizzling.

Bottom line, not sizzler quality, but it's not sizzler pricing either, so if you want something budget, I guess it's not THAT bad.

That evening, Colin, Jan, Jill, Xinn and I had dinner at this Hong Kong cafe at East Coast Park. Apparently Jan and Jill swear by this place so I had to try out the recommendations Colin and Jan had suggested.
Their Char Siew and Chicken rice wasn't so bad, although I think Colin's choice of Char Siew and deep fried pork to be a lot better than what I had.
The buns that Jan had suggested were fantastic! Cut them open and pop a slice of butter inside and you're set. This thing just tastes good, great comfort food.
I thought their XO Carrot Cake was pretty awesome too. They deep fry the little cubes and serve them piled up. If you ask me though, I still prefer the carrot cake near my house, the famous one at the Bukit Timah Market....Seng Kee Carrot Cake....rhymes with Meng Kee....must be some connection.

Tuesday evening

Xinn and I went for dinner and dropped by this foodcourt at Millenia Walk that served pretty good western food. =)
I thought for $11.50, their Ribeye wasn't so bad...it was from New Zealand so it wasn't as tasty as Aussie or USDA meat, but still it was a pretty good bargain, plus their mushroom sauce was really nice, wished they gave more so I could just drink the whole cup (disgusting I know). *slurps*

Wednesday

We headed down to the foodcourt at Suntec after closing the Spinworkx store and tried out the "Yummy Bakut Teh" corner which serves claypot style bakut teh as well as other popular claypot dishes.
There was something inside the soup that I just couldn't figure out what it was, and it was annoying, cause it made the soup taste all the more manufactured....maybe the herbs were overboiled or something....but overall it wasn't very good...average I though....maybe the regular bakut teh stall at the foodcourt would have been better.
Their bentos weren't so bad though....although their sauce for the tau kee was a bit overwhelming....but overall I thought it was alright. Xinn had Sesame Chicken and concluded her Grandmother makes a much better version of the dish than that place...but liked the sauce cause it went really well with the rice. =)

K i'm out of pictures...back to boredom again.

zzzzzzzzzz
