What?!?!?!
Apparently I had slept through the initial alarm and found myself dozing in dreamland for the past 2 hours.
Life's been quite stressful for me recently, I think it's cause of my underlying need to commit well to the things I do, Xinn, my assignments, the Spinworkx shop, the Webportal, money...the list goes on. =\
Like just yesterday, after 6 months of waiting, I finally got word from Jaben that my Shure E4C earphones have been replaced, and that I had to go pick it up. The earphones that usually cost $499 at retail stores came back repaired to me for just $120.
bah, I'm just rambling, maybe it's the "just woke up syndrome"....grumpy, sleepy, tired....and suffering from backaches...I think I might be getting a cold. =(
Anyway yesterday our Culture & Cuisine class headed down to Au Petite Salut to try out their French dining experience which I thought was pretty cool. =)

Our professor Gerry had added in a last min slot and invited our classmate Chin Ya along as a form of gratitude for helping him out with the MICE audit, I heard it was quite the hair-pulling teeth-grinding nail-biting experience. =)Oh oh...and how can I post about a dining experience with no pictures of food right??? =)

Escargot baked in Tomato and Garlic Butter.....my first time having Escargot actually (and I dare call myself a food person), and wow it was a pretty pleasant one! For those who are grossed out but curious to know, imagine....imagine shellfish, but unlike most shell fish, escargot is PLAIN, like...really, it's even more plain than mussels, and no it's not like hum or oyster where one bite sends a load of juice exploding in your mouth. It's probably like clam, juice-less, plain, and only goes well with whatever u mix it with, in this case, the tomato and garlic did it justice. =)
Quail Salad........er....yeah. It's Quail...and it's with salad. Not a pretty sight, rather simple dish, the sauce was sourish, I think it was vinaigrette base. But yah, other than that its basically a bird on some veg. =\
Guinea Fowl & Pork sausages......wah this dish is totally hand-made, and pretty nasty. Nasty in a good way that is =) If I could have the chance, I definitely wanna learn how to make my own sausages. DIY stuff are normally better since you get to pick the ingredients and grade of meats u want when you do up something. Like a burger pattie or sausage need not require disgusting leftover crap from animals when you do your own. =)
Vegetarian penne pasta with tomatoe sauce, cheese and herbs. Simple dish. needs no explanation.
Oven backed Sea Bass with veg and herbed butter. OMG this dish is amazing!!! The fish was great, the sauce was fantastic, the veg went pretty well too! I think the sauce was really good, light, not overpowering, you could taste the fish, and enjoy the veg in its own original taste...wow splendid =)

Dessert came in the form of Creme Brulee, Vanilla Ice Cream and Fruit Salad Sorbet. If you ask me, I should have gotten the fruit salad, the sorbet was daaaamn sour, but not the lingering sort, it hits u, then goes away just as quick.
I think overall the lunch was great, and for $30++, I recommend people who wanan give it a try to come on down for lunch and make sure you make a reservation, though located near Dempsy road, it's normally packed in the afternoons as well as evenings.I was pretty impressed with a lot of the stuff they sold although I had this strange feeling that most of the sauces and sweet baking goodies looked like they came from Poon Huat and then repackaged and sold at 3-4 times the price. lol!
BUT, this one was huge, l;arger than your milo tin, it had 12 pieces inside and was sold at a whooping $123!!!! How to bring to school liddat? =(
Still, it was interesting to know that they do carry them in canned ready-made versions for you to just whip out and fry in a pan. =)
Anyway come to think of it, maybe getting caught in it yesterday's the reason why I woke up todat at 11:15 feeling like a sick old man.
