K so this week has been pretty interesting, I've no idea where to start.
Oh, yeah, remember Jade? She's one of the Koreans who had her birthday at the chalet with Kelly and Jenny. Her father bought her an iPhone, OMG!!!!!!
Nice right? I got to play with it a little. Really impressive piece of work, although I'd still keep my hands off this thing for now since I'm gunning for the SE K850i...sigh, when issit going to enter the market? =(
Tuesday was quite eventful. Although I didn't have classes, I had the opportunity to head down with the entire class to the Intercontinental Hotel for a WDA talk which had HR Director Tom Anst from Universal Studios who came down to give a talk on Universal's successful business strategy.
That's me, looking all grumpy and uptight, maybe it's cause of the lack of sleep the previous night.
You see, Tuesdays for me are sleep-till-whenever-you-feel-like-getting-up day. It's really cause there's no school on Tuesdays for me so I tend to snore my day away to catch up on sleep which I've missed for the past week.....haha, some logic huh?
The talk was really good and motivational though, although most of the things he mentioned were pretty much common knowledge to those in the industry, he did lay out some really good points and quotes which made things alot clearer to digest...like "Hire Desire" or "Your employee has a bigger impact on your company than you will ever have"...I'll not dig deep into these, but yeah they were really good advice which I could say made the visit worthwhile. =)
I managed to ask Tom a question off stage about Universal Studio's policy on investing in workers who have low study qualifications to become leaders and his reply was that they'd do it, if you could prove it, so yeah, got what it takes but lack the educational skills? Give it a try! =)
I ended up having lunch with my dad who works near Vivocity and since it was the 15th on the chinese calendar, we had Vegetarian at this organic vegetarian food outlet near his work place.

Now I'm not a big fan of red-brown rice to begin with, so I didnt quite enjoy that part of the meal, but the vegetables were really delicious and I wouldn't mind second helpings if they had more to offer...lol
I did try their vegetarian Lasagna as well, although it contained quite a lot of potatoes so it tasted more like Sheppard's pie than anything else.
This place is packed with lots of organic food by the way, and looks really comfortable. Too bad it's quite hard to explain to you guys where it's situated cause it's VERY ULU...ok well if u drive along Vivocity you'd see this Church right? it's behind it......I hope you're thinking of the same church as I am, if not, OOPS! =)
Life is starting to become quite routine these days. In the evening I went down to meet Zhirong and the guys again for another heli and drift session.

The Macro shots and Color-play was really fun to mess with. =)

Lol k so I'm still new to photography, would I get into it? Hm....well not pro, just with what I have for now, I'm still more into video than anything else. =)
So yeah, through the week I chilled out at another vegetarian stall over at Fortune Centre. Remember the one I mentioned about where I had really little rice to go along with my meal? Last wednesday the bunch of us went down for lunch at that place again.
Thursday I had a really awkward incident with the vending machine at the 5th floor of the library.
You see, there' s study area for the public located at the 5th floor which has some vending machines available for those who wish to purchase a hot snack or drink while catching up on some books.aaaaaaaand...wait...
2 minutes gone by.
No Sandwich.
oh oh!! Wait for it....wait for it...
Nope.
False Alarm.
Where's the damn sandwich???
By now, I looked behind me and realised that everyone in the room has noticed what has happened and are just glancing to see what's gonna happen next.
SURELY they'll notice, it's a library, with so many ppl inside, it's still so damn quiet. One push of a button and they'd turn to see what's going on. So yeah, not the attention I was looking for.
I gave the hotline number a call and told the guy on the phone what had happened. I spoke so softly since you could practically hear my conversation from across the room. The guy told me to speak up cause he couldn't hear me! lol!!!
So I figured what the hell and decided to leave the study area with my $2 gone for good =(
Lol k well at least the guy offered to come down and retrieve the sandwich for me, but I figured it wasn't worth it, especially with all these ppl in the room with their eyes watching hilarity unfold...haha.
Friday was pretty interesting. First up, our teacher was at Thailand on vacation so there was no class, but I decided to go to school anyway to finish up on some work before I headed to black angus for my evening shift.
I went donut shopping with Chestine and Renata over at Millenia Walk
yeah, about that, cause I don't remember it too.
But yeah I kinda did I think, still, this queue wasn't long so I gave it a try.
I went to Chinese Feast with Chestine for lunch too btw. Did you know that it costs less than $20 if u just went for their steamboat buffet for a weekday lunch?
SERIOUS!
K weekdays over...Weekend...REALLY BORING!
Except for one exception, the RC Drift challenge held at Singapore Polytechnic. It's basically an inter-school competition between Ngee Ann and SP. I got the opportunity to go down and check it out for myself.
I managed to make a video and host it up on Youtube. Check it here.
SG Drifters NP-SP Inter-School RC Drift Challenge 2007
K I gtg sleep, it's late...I've more to type but I'm lazy...sigh.
You guys have a wonderful week.
Cheerios ppl. =)
