I have an F22 Raptor, bought on Dec 30 2011. It's one of the three MTBs in my humble fleet. Although any people badmouth Aleoca, they shouldn't badmouth this one. It has served me really well. A recreational rider with a mileage of about 150 km on Saturdays if not hitting the trails at Tampines and Mandai/Bt Timah, the Raptor is worth every dollar, and more. So long as you maintain the delicate parts with regular degreasing, washing etc, preventive maintenance of teh mechanical parts, the bike will serve you well. It accelerates fast, the gears don't make noise, and cruises comfortably without bouncing movements at 30-35kmh. It's been over a year and I have had not problems at all with anything, nor I have had to replace anything. The Kendo wheelset is simply brilliant. I have no complaints.
I guess my comment was because for the price tag of $600+, you can actually get a past year Cannondale Trail 6 with basics and a disc brake as well.
For $789, regular brakes and a basic fork which the Cannondale Trail 6 also has, I'm trying to figure out where on the bike are the parts worth its penny.
It has alvio shifters for a start,I feel it is lighter than trail 5 because I haven't seen trail 6 ,bigger too.At turf city it sells at $489 for Giant , almost got one.disc brakes are not much more expensive than normal rim brakes they are smaller and only have one metal disc more.they are better if u go off road a lot as dirt does not affect it also more simple . I used my friend's raptor before.
